It is with deepest joy and pleasure that I announce to you
that The Reverend Pamela Jane Mott has been elected as the next Rector of
Saint Mary’s Church. Pam
is currently serving as the Canon Pastor at Trinity Cathedral in
Portland
,
Oregon
and our plan is
for her first services to be conducted on the weekend of October 2
& 3, 2004.
On July 8th the Vestry
received the recommendation from the Search Committee that we elect
The Reverend Mott as our next rector.
Accordingly, the Vestry invited Pamela to visit with us,
which she was able to do July 15th through 17th.
After discussion with her, study of background materials and
prayerful deliberation we elected her rector.
In speaking with Pam she said,” I am
honored by your decision to call me.
I look forward to getting to know you, and being part of
Saint Mary’s community of faith.
St. Mary’s has already had such lively play in my
imagination and prayer, that I feel like I have already been partly
there!”
Both Pam and I want to thank the Search Committee for the work they
have done on behalf of our community.
It is through their prayerful diligence that this process has
been brought to such a joyful conclusion. Special thanks to
Chairperson Hal Hultgren and our Consultant the Reverend Paul
Twelves for the guidance they have provided these past many months.
As we proceed through this transition
in the coming weeks, I seek your prayers and support for Pam as she
travels across the country and for Saint Mary’s as we prepare for
her arrival.
Faithfully,
Bev Hall
Senior Warden, Saint Mary’s Church
